Study Suggests Injectable Hydromorphone Effective for Treating Long-Term Opioid Addiction

Hydromorphone hydrochloride injection (Dilaudid, Purdue) might be a viable treatment option for patients with long-term opioid addiction, a new study suggests.

A team of researchers from Canada conducted a Phase III, double-blind, noninferiority trial to compare injectable hydromorphone hydrochloride with diacetylmorphine hydrochloride for reducing illicit heroin use.
