A new study reinforces the challenge of treating patients with comorbid rheumatologic conditions, particularly fibromyalgia. A subgroup of 209 patients from BRASS (Brigham and Women’s Hospital Rheumatoid Arthritis Sequential Study) showed that people who have both rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and fibromyalgia at baseline are more likely to have significantly worse health in the subsequent two years than people with RA alone.
