The application deadline for the Poster-to-Podium (P-to-P) mentoring program of the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience (ASPN) is set for Sept. 20, 2024.

According to the ASPN, the program “provides a distinctive and valuable offering intended to develop the talent, knowledge and leadership skills of ASPN members in order to advance the scientific understanding, supportive patient engagement, and clinical application of pain medicine treatments.”

Part of this goal, according to the ASPN, is to enhance the visibility of early-career pain clinicians and researchers as experts in their fields and to accelerate their path to leadership.

During the 12-month program, P-to-P participants develop a research focus, taking the project from a poster presented midway through the mentorship year to an oral presentation at the ASPN’s annual meeting. Mentor guidance focuses on project development and progress. Seminar sessions on speaking, writing and presentation skills, and a research development session, are additional components to the advanced clinical skills offerings.

Program graduates will participate as faculty in precepting and teaching future classes, which benefits future mentees and aids graduates’ own career development. Graduates will represent ASPN and serve as a resource for industry, medical societies and conference panels.
