Painful Monkeypox ‘Something to Be Taken Seriously’

More than 700 cases of monkeypox have been reported around the world, but only 21 have been identified so far in the United States as of early June, according to Jennifer McQuiston, DVM, MS, the deputy director of the CDC’s Division of High Consequence Pathogens and Pathology, and a captain in the U.S. Public Health Service.
