Long-term outcomes of ventral and incisional hernia repair (VHR) remain poor, with nearly one in six patients requiring reoperation for hernia recurrence over a 10-year period. Additionally, multiple follow-up operations are common, with nearly 20% of patients requiring two or three reoperations.
