Opioid use disorder (OUD) often stems from legitimate pain management and results in significant morbidity and mortality. While pain medicine specialists are experts at implementing interventions that target the source of their patient’s discomfort, they may need direction in navigating the landscape of medication-assisted therapy (MAT) to treat OUDs.
