Polygenic Risk Score for Headache Predicts Prevalence, Severity



San Antonio—A team of researchers has created a genetic risk score for headache that correlates with both severity and prevalence of severe headache.

“This suggests a basis for a genetic component to severe headaches, and also validates the prior genome-wide association study findings,” said Andrea L. Nicol, MD, MSc, an assistant professor of clinical anesthesiology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Lawrence. She was not involved in the research.
