In the realm of medicine, it wasn’t just patient care that had to adjust to the COVID-19 pandemic. Clinical and preclinical research alike didn’t stop altogether—investigators altered their schedules and thought outside the box to continue their studies. Allowing wiggle room for schedules and locations helped to keep research alive, explained Erika Petersen, MD, FAANS, FACS, in an interview with Pain Medicine News. Petersen is a professor of neurosurgery and the director of
