Most back pain in children is nonspecific, musculoskeletal and self-limiting, and usually can be successfully managed by a primary care physician who is well versed in anatomy and differential diagnosis, according to a review of recent literature in JAMA Pediatrics (2017 Jan 30. [Epub ahead of print]).
Lead author James MacDonald, MD, MPH, a clinical associate professor of pediatrics and family medicine at the Ohio State University, in Columbus, said he and the other two authors have cared for
