Researchers Advise Against Opioids to Treat Migraine in ED
Intravenous hydromorphone, commonly used as first-line treatment for migraine in emergency departments, should no longer be used this way. According to a study published in Neurology, it is greatly inferior to IV prochlorperazine, for both the primary outcome measure, migraine relief, and numerous secondary outcomes.
