Most patients who manage their pain with medication are unschooled about the risks of those medications, as well as how those risks change with dose, according to a poster presented at PAINWeek 2016, in Las Vegas. More generally, their knowledge of the taxonomy of the various medications is strikingly poor.
The study was conducted via an online survey in December 2015. The study population numbered 1,056 adults, and was demographically representative of the adult U.S. population.
