Hide Video

The purpose of the new Pain Medicine News section, “Residency & Fellowship,” is to introduce interventional pain medicine to trainees at any level who may take an interest in the field, according to the section’s co-editors Ahish Chitneni, DO, and Anishinder Parkash, MD.

Chitneni is a current resident physician (PGY-3) in physical medicine and rehabilitation at NewYork Presbyterian/Columbia & Cornell, in New York City, and plans to pursue a fellowship in interventional pain medicine. His current clinical interests include neuromodulation, cancer pain, minimally invasive spine and healthcare technology.

Parkash is a resident physician (PGY-3) in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Tower Health Reading Hospital, in West Reading, Pa. He was recently appointed Academic Chief Resident and is presently applying for a fellowship in pain medicine. His interests include neuromodulation, cancer pain, headache and minimally invasive surgeries.

“The section was launched less than a year ago and so far, we have over 10 articles highlighting residents doing research in the field, highlighting various topics in pain medicine that are written in our literature review format, where residents critically review a topic in pain medicine,” Chitneni said. “If you're interested in being a contributing author and writing for our section, please reach out to Pain Medicine News. We're taking articles on a rolling basis throughout the whole year.”
