PARIS—Infrared thermal imaging represents a promising noninvasive technique to monitor for sympathetic blockade in the affected limbs of patients with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), according to the results of a new study.
The overwhelming majority of patients in the trial experienced a temperature increase in the limb—as measured by a forward-looking infrared (FLIR) camera—by at least 1° C, which the investigators said is indicative of an effective sympathetic
