Sibling Controlled Analysis Sheds New Light on Fetal Acetaminophen Exposure

Data from a large cohort study indicate there is no causal link between neurodevelopmental disorders and acetaminophen exposure before birth.

“Acetaminophen use during pregnancy was not associated with children’s risk [for] autism, ADHD [attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder] or intellectual disability in sibling control analysis,” investigators concluded. “This suggests that associations observed in other models may have been attributable to familial
