Interim Buprenorphine Effective in People Wait-Listed for Opioid Abuse Treatment

The use of interim buprenorphine in people on a waiting list to enter treatment for opioid abuse resulted in dramatically less illicit opioid use than in people without interim therapy, according to a study that was highlighted in correspondence to the editor in the Dec. 22 edition of The New England Journal of Medicine (2016;375:2504-2505).
